DOTA, as known as Defend Of The Ancient is a custom scenario of Warcraft III : The Frozen Throne. The objective of this scenario is to destroy the ancient. The ancient is guarded by its powerfull hero.
There were two ancients, The World Tree and The Frozen Throne.
World tree is the ancient in sentinel team.
Meanwhile The Frozen Throne is the ancient in scourge team.
Each human player controls 1 hero, each hero has a unique ability and it's very own ultimate skill. There were 3 types of hero. Strength, Agility and Intelligent Hero.
Defense of the Ancients allows up to ten players in a five versus five format and an additional two slots for referees or observers, often with an equal number of players on each side.
Because the gameplay is revolves about strengthing hero, there were many powerful item in the shop and you buy if you think it will fit to your hero. You can get experiences by killing the creeps. You can also kill the opponent's hero, if you do that, you can get more experience than kill the creeps.
Allstars offers a variety of game modes, selected by the game host at the beginning of the match. The game modes dictate the difficulty of the scenario, as well as whether people can choose their hero or are assigned one randomly. Many game modes can be combined (for example, an easy difficulty level and a random hero pick), allowing more flexible options.
